Compounding the problems for many seeking higher education opportunities is the cost and time commitment: Many job seekers report that they cannot afford to spend two years or more in a community college and cannot afford $30-$50K at a private educational institution. As a result, people turn to nontraditional adult education programs like those that the Education & Life Training Center provides.

Our program is based on the assumption that many quality of life issues of at-risk individuals/families can be addressed by building their capacity so that they can step onto career ladders for upward mobility – and thereby achieve a basic standard of living and economic self-sufficiency. Our program accomplishes this by providing people with the hard and soft cognitive skills that can lead to jobs with a good starting wage, with advancement opportunities, and with benefits. We also address the barriers people face in accessing and succeeding in employment training programs.
