Literacy Training – Our Classes

English as a Second or Other Language

The goals of this program are to teach English for everyday needs. Students improve speaking, reading, and writing skills so that they function more effectively in the workplace and community. Multiple levels are offered.

English

Writing and Reading Comprehension are the primary skills taught in this course. It helps prepare students to take the GED test and/or to improve job performance. GED subject areas include: English, Science, and Social Studies.

Mathematics

The content of this class covers the range of math topics found on the GED exam. The class is geared toward preparation for the GED, leading to successful entry into post-secondary education or job advancement.

Class Format: Most classes are two hours long and scheduled twice a week. Some classes require a pre-course and post-course test. Textbooks are required for some courses; the costs vary and are not included in the registration fee. Spring & Fall courses are 16-weeks in length; Summer courses are 8-weeks.
