General Position Description:
Instructors will provide instruction to students in their respective program at Education & Life Training Center (ELTC), a nonprofit agency that helps low-income, disadvantaged, and culturally diverse populations build toward personal and economic self-sufficiency through education. Working with the Program Manager, the instructor teach students following curriculum, develop lesson plans based on ELTC requirements, assess students for learning needs, and maintain student attendance and progress records.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge in the respective subject being taught
- Experience teaching basic skills to adults
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Strong oral communication skills
- Two years work experience in related field
- Excellent organizational abilities and the ability to work well under pressure
- Strong team player and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Employee is instructor status and not eligible for ELTC's benefit programs.
Pay is $10-15 per hour depending on specific position, education, and experience. Current classes begin the week of August 24, 2009.
